Let the breath help carry us into all that is blooming!

June arrives softly…through open windows, fresh breezes, longer light, and the scent of lilacs drifting through the air.

Nature is fully waking now. The world feels alive with movement, color, celebration, and possibility. There are gardens to tend, gatherings to enjoy, summer plans unfolding, and for many of us, meaningful moments filling the calendar — including a very special wedding on mine this season. 💛

And yet, even in beautiful seasons, life can begin to feel full very quickly.

This is why the breath matters.

Breath is one of the most powerful tools we carry with us each day. It can calm, energize, ground, steady, and reconnect us to the present moment in just seconds. The breath meets us exactly where we are — tired, overwhelmed, joyful, anxious, hopeful, excited — and helps the body and mind work together again.

This month, instead of rushing into summer energy, what if we paused long enough to breathe it in?

The warmth.
The newness.
The possibility.
The aliveness of the season.

🌿 Monthly Strategy: The Energizing Breath

HOW:
Take 3 short gentle “sips” of breath in through the nose without exhaling between them. Then take 1 long, slow exhale out through the mouth.

Repeat only 2–5 rounds slowly and comfortably.

Afterward, pause and notice:
-Does the body feel more awake?
-More energized?
-More clear or focused?

WHY IT WORKS:
This style of breathing can gently increase alertness, oxygen intake, and nervous system activation, helping improve vitality, focus, and energy. Breath practices also influence communication between the brain and body, helping shift mood and overall state more intentionally.

IMPORTANT:
Always listen to the body and stop any practice that causes discomfort, dizziness, anxiety, or strain. This practice may not be appropriate for everyone, especially those navigating anxiety, panic tendencies, blood pressure concerns, respiratory or medical conditions. Always check with a healthcare provider before beginning new wellness or breathing practices.

Summer does not ask us to do everything at once.
Nature still moves in rhythms.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Expand.
Rest.

Perhaps that is the real invitation this season:
to let the breath help carry us into all that is blooming — with a little more presence, steadiness, and vitality along the way. 🌿

Hope grows quietly—just like nature, it knows the way forward.

Step outside for a moment.

Notice what is happening all around… even if it’s subtle.

The ground is softening.
The light is shifting.
Something that once looked still or empty is slowly, steadily coming back to life.

Nature does not rush.
It does not force.
And yet… it always moves forward.

There is something deeply reassuring about that.

Because hope doesn’t always arrive as a big, bright feeling.
Sometimes, it’s much quieter than that.

Sometimes hope looks like:

  • taking one small step or breath

  • pausing instead of reacting

  • choosing to begin again

Nature reminds us that growth is not always visible at first.
Roots are forming before anything breaks through the surface.
Energy is gathering before movement is seen.

And just like nature…there is wisdom within the body that knows how to reset, regulate, and begin again.

Even after hard days.
Even after stuck moments.
Even when things feel uncertain.

Hope lives there. 🌿

Nature as Teacher

Nature shows us:

  • how to pause

  • how to restore

  • how to begin again without judgment

A tree does not question whether it is worthy of growing.
It simply responds to light, water, and time.

What if we could do the same?

What if hope wasn’t something to chase…but something to notice and nurture?

🌿 Monthly Strategy: Grounding Into Hope

Feet to Earth + Breath Awareness

HOW:
Stand or sit with both feet connected to the ground.
Press gently through the feet and notice the support beneath.

Take a slow breath in through the nose…and a longer breath out.

As breathing continues, imagine roots growing down from the feet into the earth—steady, strong, supported.

Option to add a quiet affirmation: “I am grounded. I am growing. I can begin again.”

Stay here for 3–5 slow breaths.

WHY IT WORKS:
Grounding through the feet brings awareness out of the busy mind and into the body, helping regulate the nervous system. Slower breathing activates the calming response, while visualization supports a sense of stability and safety. Together, this creates space for hope to be felt—not just thought.

Hope doesn’t need to be loud to be real.
It can be steady.
It can be quiet.
It can be as simple as choosing to show up again… today.

And just like nature…you don’t have to figure it all out at once.

You just have to take the next step.

Smoothing the Path: From Square Wheels to Smooth Flow

New paths aren’t always smooth—but with patience and hope, the wheels begin to turn, and we find our way.

There’s a particular feeling that comes with starting something new. It can feel a bit like trying to roll forward on square wheels—clunky, effortful, a little awkward. Each push takes intention. Each step asks for patience.

Lately, that’s been the rhythm here. The behind-the-scenes work of building, learning, and stretching into new spaces has been real. Booking and invoicing are now steady and familiar. Free videos for practices and guided relaxations have found their way into the world. And now… the wheels are beginning to roll.

What once felt rigid is starting to soften. Movement is becoming smoother just as SPRING HOPE arrives!

There is a quiet excitement in this next phase—beginning to offer on-demand video practices for purchase, and creating a 3-hour Yoga for Trauma Sensitivity and Support continuing education course. These offerings are meant to meet you where you are—providing accessible, supportive tools for body, mind, and heart, whenever they are needed most.

At the same time, some of the familiar, in-person therapeutic classes are on pause. Not gone—just waiting. As things continue to shift and a new space emerges, there is trust that these meaningful connections will return, perhaps in ways that feel even more aligned and supportive.

Because that’s the thing about square wheels…
They don’t stay square forever.

With time, practice, and gentle persistence, the edges soften. The movement changes. The journey begins to feel smoother—not because the path is perfect, but because there is more ease in how it’s traveled.

🌿 Monthly Strategy: Smoothing Things Out

Forehead Tapping + Smoothing (Energy Medicine Practice)

HOW:
Using two or three fingers, gently tap the center of the forehead (just above the eyebrows) for about 10–20 seconds. Keep the breath slow and steady.
Then, using both hands, slowly “smooth” across the forehead from the center outward toward the temples. Repeat this motion several times, as if softening lines across the forehead.

WHY IT WORKS:
This area is associated with the frontal brain and overlaps with points connected to the Bladder meridian in traditional Chinese medicine, which runs over the head and is linked to stress and nervous system activation. Gentle tapping stimulates circulation and neural activity, while the smoothing motion helps signal safety to the brain, calming the stress response. This can reduce tension, support clearer thinking, and help shift the body into a more regulated, relaxed state.

So if things feel a little clunky right now…
If the wheels feel square and the path feels effortful…

Trust the process.
Keep rolling.
Keep softening.

Because over time, with presence and care,
the path smooths, the wheels round,
and the journey begins to carry you forward with ease. 🌿

Stepping onto a Dawning (new) Path: One Breath at a Time

Well, here I go…

New year…
New day…
New path…

My brother once asked me if I’m a squirrel or a monkey. A monkey waits for the next safe branch, while the squirrel just leaps! Back then, I was definitely a monkey — happy to wait and enjoy a banana. But not anymore! I think I’ve found my inner squirrel as I embrace a new path as an independent business owner and full-time Body–Mind Therapist (C-IAYT) and Educator.

Starting something new can feel exciting — and a little scary. Our minds often focus on what could go wrong, while our hearts quietly whisper about what’s possible. Fear is natural, but it doesn’t have to stop us.

When we slow down, take a breath, and tune into the intelligence of our body–mind connection, we can feel what our bodies truly need and trust the guidance of our hearts. Noticing the sensations in our body, the rhythm of our breath, and the gentle pull of curiosity or excitement creates a stable, grounded platform to take the next step.

The key? One breath. One step. Each small move forward becomes a ripple, building confidence, clarity, and courage. Trust that your body, mind, and heart already know how to guide you along any dawning path — you just need to step into it.

So… ready to take a leap and try a new path? Take a deep breath and channel your inner squirrel!

And while you’re at it, join me at Dawning Path – Wellness & Education for your wellness needs: nervous system resets, body–mind therapy, yoga-based classes, sound baths, YTT training, workplace wellness, and more! Each month, I’ll share a new Body–Mind strategy or topic to guide us on the path to more ease, joy, and balance in daily life.

On the Dawning Path!
